We hope you had an enjoyable Easter break.
Time has flown by and it is almost a year since we moved into the new premises.
I have had a "fun" time in setting up the new shop and am almost finished tweaking the premises. The building is more like a Dive Centre now rather than a building and functioning to suit your needs.
Our facebook group page Bottom Timers has become "out dated"; the idea was good however, it failed us and created more work. After a chat with Paula Gott, we now have a new page that is active and user friendly, a big thanks Paula. This new page will let people post and upload pics easier. Already we have people signing into the new Bottom Timers, thanks everyone for your support and remember tell others, the old site will disappear shortly.
The Normal Cost for our Live Aboard trip is $ 470 and great value; however, periodically DiveXsite will be running trips with a bonus. These will offer reduced rates, a gear inclusive or further special.
Our next trip is 20-22 May 2011; we have booked the whole boat and are offering this trip at $329.
This Special is for people who book on NOW and only valid until 7 days before departure, then it will go to the normal price.
You will still get the usual live aboard trimmings of all meals, accommodation, 8 dives, tank fills etc, etc,
For those who have never been on a Live aboard you can enjoy 8 dives on the weekend as our boat visits some of the most spectacular reefs of the Beautiful Moreton Bay and Marine Park. You will spend 2 days and 2 nights on-board, diving, hanging out and generally having a damn good time! This is also a great opportunity to do some speciality diving and maybe even complete a speciality course. You will also get the opportunity to participate in a Night Dive, it is a great experience and one that is available to you for free.
Join us for a spectacular dive on the Ex HMAS Brisbane. This former warship was intentionally sunk in July 2005 for diving and now rests off the Mooloolaba coast in 27m of
water. The wreck has purposefully blasted access holes allowing entry to the engine room, boiler room and the sleeping quarters of its former crew.
This is a great dive site; the wreck itself has now become an artificial reef and home to many species of tropical fish, nudibranchs, turtles, eagle ray, octopi, anglerfish and much, much more. The trip is a perfect opportunity for anyone wanting to experience a wreck or deep dive and in turn can count towards an Advanced certification or a speciality course in of these areas.
Join us for two dives at Cook Island! This site is always an interesting dive with abundant marine life and varying depths to suit all divers. There will be tea, coffee and snacks on board the boat during the surface interval. We depart from the shop at 6am sharp and bookings for these trips are essential.
Again another fabulous trip to South West Rocks to dive with the sharks and swim through the "cave".
The trip down was not without excitement, as it rained the whole way down. Saturday did fine up to let us out for our first dives. Although a little bumpy on the surface the conditions below were beautiful with good vis and warm water of 22 degrees, plus plenty of sharks and marine life to make the diving very enjoyable. Paula, Jennelle, and Yu Pei got some great photos and a couple of us ventured into the cave via the shallow entrance. Sunday saw a better day and better surface conditions however; the conditions below did turn a little nasty with currents, swells and surges making the dives a little more taxing. The deep entrance to the cave was attempted by the adventurous, yet while inside it was peaceful and relaxing. We then moved our second dive to inside the bay to a site not that frequently dived, enjoyable and plenty to see
were some of the comments. Monday found us with great surface conditions and no currents yet the vis went to 2 mtrs. I found myself on the bottom facing a rather large and disordered set of teeth, hello. In all we had a fabulous weekend, again thanks to everyone for coming along. Seems as though we will be doing this trip again next year and space is already limited.
Reality 1, our Sunday Dive Boat, caters for up to 12 divers with ample seating and space for your comfort. It has a toilet & shower on board, a spacious galley and a nice deck area for sunning. Reality 1 heads out to the beautiful Flinders Reef and Moreton Bay Marine Park and visits the most favorable dive sites for that day. Morning and afternoon tea as well as lunch will be provided along with your 2 dives.
We will provide a courtesy bus to help you enjoy this fun filled day; departure is from the shop at 6:30 am and return is approx 5:30 pm.
Why not come along, have some fun and relax on the high-speed boat.
Bookings are essential.
This is a live-aboard trip catering for Technical Divers and Advanced Divers with Decompression dives available. No open water divers or open water courses on this trip, it's all about diving and having fun.
We will spend the weekend diving sites like the St. Paul (42mtrs) and possibly the Jennifer K (58mtrs). For the Tech Diver the trip includes 4 Deco dives and a night dive.
The trip has the usual live aboard trimmings of great food, free air fills, 2 nights' accom, linen etc.
*Helium and Oxygen will be available, prior bookings essential.
You will need to BOOK NOW to get the savings. By booking now and up to 2 weeks out you will save 25% ($120). Book more than 1 week out you save 15% ($72.00)
What a better way to loose those winter blues and come diving at the beautiful dive sites that surround Nusa resort in PNG. Of the trips we have running this year this would have to be the pick. Great photo opportunities, warm water and smooth conditions are guaranteed.
